Dyslexia Tuition

For Blackheath Dyslexia, tuition means one-to-one time with a specialist. We celebrate the strengths and resilience of children and adults for whom dyslexia has become a barrier. We work closely with students to develop strategies for overcoming hurdles, strategies that work when we are not there. Our tuition develops their intuition. It’s work but it’s fun work.

Sessions take place at out home office in SE13, and are normally one hour long, booked in blocks, and paid in advance.

Sessions might include:

  • Tailored literacy programmes – for individuals who need spelling, reading, writing and handwriting intervention.
  • Study skills development – effective revision, note-taking, organisation, reading comprehension and academic writing.
  • National curriculum support – literacy and study skills tailored for primary and secondary level education, including readiness for GCSE and A level examinations.
  • Maths tuition.
  • Preparation for entrance exams such as 11+.
  • Learning mentoring and confidence building.
  • Work or apprenticeship-readiness.

Tuition sessions are conducted by qualified teachers who shape resources and delivery to create a positive learning experience for the individual. It’s not just “more school” – it’s interactive, multi-sensory and cumulative.
